Knowesis, Inc., in partnership with Vysnova Partners Inc., was awarded the Limited Excess Property Program (LEPP) support contract by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Economic Growth, Education, and Environment’s Office of Local Sustainability (E3/LS).
The LEPP provides Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs) access to federal surplus property to support their global humanitarian and development projects. Since its inception in 1987, the LEPP has leveraged over half a billion dollars’ worth of federal surplus property, made available through the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) excess property programs, to support efforts in over thirty countries; efforts such as outfitting hospitals, clinics, group homes, infant feeding centers, vocational facilities and schools. Knowesis is excited by the opportunity to support the USAID, E3/LS and the LEPP in these endeavors.
Under this contract, Team Knowesis will assist the LEPP to increase the volume of U.S. Government (USG) excess property accessed and utilized by a diverse group of partners; improve the quality and efficiency of the supply chain processes used to access USG excess property; and, to leverage the transfer of USG excess property to increase public diplomacy opportunities in the countries where LEPP operates and bolster the potential development and humanitarian outcomes of programs using USG excess property. Knowesis is providing project management; business process improvement; policy development and guidance; communications, outreach and event coordination; monitoring and evaluation; and, information technology and information management services.
